La Poste Côte d'Ivoire

La Poste Côte d'Ivoire

Cote d’Ivoire has a long history with the postal sector which started as early as 1843 and joined the UPU in 1961. In 2016, under the push of current Director General Mr Gnamba-Yao, the Post has made an impressive move toward digitization and closing the gap with the demand and expectations from its citizens. Today the La pose de Côte d’Ivoire is one of the few in Africa to have its own online ecommerce marketplace and digital platform for civil documents.

E-Commerce Context:

The Cote d’Ivoire market is the most active in West African, including e-commerce. Although the first batch of e-commerce champions from the 2010-2015 era have failed due to a fierce competition with Jumia and  the absence of adequate logistics payment solutions and funding at that time. Today a growing number of e-commerce players such as Pankart.store and the Postal marketplace Sanlishop.ci are gaining momentum. Great progress has been made in terms of payment and logistics providers for e-commerce which sets the scene for an accelerated development of e-commerce in the coming years.
