The Mongol Post was initially founded in 1935 and changed names multiple times. Traditionally a Stated Owned company. It has in 2016 opened 34% of its shares to the public in 2016. As of 2021 it operates around 400 postal offices and employs nearly 1,000 people.

E-Commerce Context:

According to the Mongolian Communication Regulatory Commission most of the population do have access to the Internet, 2.6 Million out of the 3 Million total population. An institution established in 2016 to register and record e-commerce players also confirms that about 2 million Mongolian regularly shop online.That said e-commerce is still in its very early stage in Mongolia.
